The FAFSA can be accessed by going to the Federal Student Aid website. The application can be completed after October 1st of the award year you wish to receive federal aid. For example, if you are interested in enrolling at Pensacola State College for the Fall 2023 term, and you wish to apply to receive federal aid, a 2023-2024 FAFSA will need to be submitted.
An FSA ID is generated when an account is created on the Federal Student Aid website to complete the FAFSA. Students and parents (only applicable for students that are dependents) are required to use a FSA ID. The FSA ID is used to confirm an applicant’s identity when accessing financial aid information and electronically signing any federal student aid documents.
If you have not already created an FSA ID, you can find out how to get an FSA ID here. If you do not remember your FSA ID, you can find the steps to retrieve your ID here.
The Federal Student Aid website provides a guide through completing the FAFSA process. The webpage is a good resource for students and parents working through submitting the FAFSA.

After completion of the FAFSA, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR). The SAR report will provide you a summary of the information submitted on your FAFSA.

After the FAFSA: What Happens Next?
There may be additional documents required by the College prior to receiving your financial aid. It is important to monitor your PirateMail and Workday for notifications regarding your financial aid requirements.
It is the responsibility of the student to request academic transcripts from prior post-secondary institutions they have previously attended. All college transcripts must be evaluated by PSC’s Records’ office. For information on requesting transcripts, please visit your previous institution’s website and review their procedure on requesting transcripts.
